I took my new GigPerformer setup on its first test outing at the weekend and I'm really pleased with it. Normally I play a Korg Kronos in the band, which works really well and offers everything I need for this band. Click, sounds, backing, it's all there.
Of course, I have also stored this accordingly in GigPerformer, but there are a few more cables and a lot of routing to consider. Of course, I set everything up properly at home and tested it. Nevertheless, I was a little uneasy about whether everything would work during a long rehearsal without a backup.
Of course, it started well straight away: I thought I had plugged in my MultiCore incorrectly and corrected it straight away.
As it turned out, I did everything right after all and then wondered why there was no click. I quickly plugged it back in and all was well.
Overall, I got through the rehearsal very well. Some sounds and controllers still need to be adjusted, but that's not a problem.
But it was worse: I had put the rackspace volume on a knob so that I could intervene quickly if something wasn't right. Of course, that didn't work at all because I had moved my routing to the global rackspace. I'll show this in a video soon.
What has worked very well, however, is the pedalboard. I'm super happy with that. I still have to adjust the cabling and power a bit and add a USB C hub and I'm good. At the moment, I have a USB C hub on the computer and then a USB hub on the board. That's a bit unfortunate, of course, even if it did work.
Conclusion: Absolute recommendation. Improve the board and the cabling to minimize the effort and then it works.
